We're proud that the one-way bottle was designed with both safety and environmental sensitivity in mind:
Because it's made from recyclable polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, the one-way bottle can go straight from your dispenser through the recycling infrastructure to other uses (just crush it and place it in your usual recycling bin!). The bottle also contains more than five percent post-consumer content, a level that's considered high in our industry.
A typical case of half-liter bottles uses 480 grams of PET and contains 405 ounces of water. The 4-gallon one-way bottle uses 310 grams of PET and contains 512 ounces of water. What better way to enjoy one of nature's greatest resources while preserving others?
The one-way bottle already fits the existing U.S. recycling infrastructure; due to its size, it is very easily identified in the sorting process. We believe the one-way bottle will help to lift currently poor PET recycling rates.
Many consumers and health professionals have expressed concerns over Bisphenol-A (BPA). Unlike standard returnable polycarbonate bottles, the one-way bottle is made of PET and thus contains no BPA.
